WhatsApp Community
A WhatsApp Community is an app feature that brings up to 50 related groups under one umbrella with a shared announcement group where admins post to everyone. Communities are managed from the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app, follow group rules (members see each other, admins manage membership), and are not accessible through the Business API.

Why it matters
Communities suit membership organisations, schools and residents' associations where members want to talk to each other. They are the wrong tool for customer communication: numbers are visible to members, there is no consent record or delivery data, and the API cannot post to or read them.
