WhatsApp API Pricing Calculator (India)

WhatsApp API costs have two layers: Meta's per-message charges (same for everyone) and your platform's fee (very much not the same). Enter your monthly volumes and see the real total across platforms.

Meta rates (editable - India, per delivered message)

Meta charges are identical on every platform - the platform fee is the only lever. VGraple CRM starts free forever and its top plan costs less than most competitors' middle tiers, with revenue tracking and an AI chatbot included.

How to use the pricing calculator

  1. Pick the recipient country; Meta prices by where the customer is, not where you are.
  2. Enter the number of marketing, utility and authentication messages you expect to deliver in a month, and roughly how many utility messages will land inside an open 24-hour window (those are free).
  3. Read the monthly Meta charge, then add your platform plan; VGraple CRM adds no markup and Meta bills you directly.

How WhatsApp pricing works in 2026

Since 1 July 2025 Meta bills per delivered template message, by category and country, instead of per 24-hour conversation. Free-form replies inside the customer service window are free; utility templates delivered inside an open window are free too; marketing and authentication templates are always billed. Undelivered, held and failed messages are never charged. In India the April 2026 card is marketing Rs 0.8631, utility Rs 0.115 and authentication Rs 0.115 per delivered message; the pricing by country pages list every market.

Common mistakes in cost estimates

  • Counting replies to customers as billable; they are free inside the window.
  • Pricing reminders as marketing; a message about the customer's own booking is utility.
  • Ignoring a vendor markup on top of Meta's rate; compare the vendor's per-message price with this calculator's.
  • Using 2024 conversation-based figures; the model changed in July 2025.
  • Forgetting the daily messaging limit; a list larger than the limit sends over several days, not at a higher price.

What the platform fee adds

The platform fee is the software: inbox, automation, broadcasts, CRM. VGraple CRM plans are Free, Starter Rs 1,499, Growth Rs 3,499 and Scale Rs 7,999 a month with Meta billing messages directly; the pricing page shows what each includes and the delivery protection feature explains why held and suppressed messages cost nothing.

Frequently asked questions

How does WhatsApp Business API pricing work in India in 2026?

Two layers. First, Meta charges per delivered template message: roughly Rs 0.78 for marketing, Rs 0.115 for utility, and Rs 0.115 for authentication messages in India. Service conversations (replying to customers within 24 hours) are free. Second, your platform charges a monthly software fee, which ranges from free to several thousand rupees.

Are Meta charges different between Wati, AiSensy, Interakt, and VGraple?

Meta's base rates are identical everywhere. Some platforms add a per-message markup on top of Meta rates, which this calculator does not include - check each platform's terms. VGraple CRM passes Meta charges through with no markup.

What platform fees does this calculator use?

Publicly listed entry-plan prices as of July 2026: Wati Rs 2,499/month, AiSensy Rs 1,500/month, Interakt Rs 2,142/month, and VGraple CRM Rs 1,499/month (with a free forever plan below it). Plans differ in seats and features, so treat this as a starting comparison, not a like-for-like quote.

Are replies to customers really free?

Yes. When a customer messages you first, you can reply free of charge within the 24-hour service window - Meta made service conversations free in late 2024. Costs apply to business-initiated template messages outside that window.

How can I reduce my WhatsApp API bill?

Send marketing only to engaged segments (fewer, better-targeted broadcasts), move transactional notifications to utility templates (85 percent cheaper than marketing), answer within the free 24-hour service window, and pick a platform without per-message markups.

Does the calculator include GST?

It shows Meta's published per-message rates; Meta's invoice applies tax per its own registration, and VGraple CRM's platform fee is shown before GST on the pricing page.

Are failed messages charged?

No. Meta bills delivered messages only.

Why is my vendor's rate higher than this?

A markup. Tech Providers like VGraple CRM cannot mark up because Meta bills you directly; BSPs that re-bill often do.
