Tag
A tag is a free-form label attached to a contact or a conversation to mark a trait, interest, campaign or situation: VIP, interested-in-3BHK, batch-jan-2026, complaint. A record can carry many tags; they are applied by agents, flows, rules, imports and the API, and used to build segments, filter the inbox and trigger automation.

Why it matters
Tags are the fastest way to capture something worth remembering without designing a field for it. They power segments ("everyone tagged diwali-2025 who did not buy"), routing ("complaint tags go to the manager") and reporting, and they are the usual bridge between a chatbot's answers and a marketing audience.
In VGraple CRM
Tags are managed centrally with colours, applied from the conversation panel, in bulk, by flow nodes and rules, and by CSV import; segments and inbox filters use them, and adding a tag can enrol a contact in a sequence. The tags guide covers conventions that scale.
