Broadcast list (app)
A broadcast list is a feature of the WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business apps that sends one message to up to 256 contacts at once; each recipient receives it as an individual chat, but only if they have saved the sender's number. There is no scheduling, personalisation, delivery report or consent management, and heavy use gets numbers banned.

Why it matters
Broadcast lists are how most small businesses start and why so many get banned: the 256 cap invites multiple lists, the saved-number rule silently drops most recipients, and Meta's spam detection treats repeated list sends as bulk messaging without consent. Moving to the API is the fix, and coexistence makes the move painless.
In VGraple CRM
API broadcasts replace lists with segments of any size, consent checks, templates, personalisation, scheduling, pacing and per-recipient reports; the app's lists keep working on a coexistence number for the owner's personal use. The bulk messaging guide explains the transition.
