wa.me link (click to chat)
A wa.me link, also called a click-to-chat link, is a URL of the form wa.me/<number>?text=<message> that opens a WhatsApp conversation with that number on any device, with the text prefilled so the customer only has to tap send. It is the simplest way to start WhatsApp conversations from websites, email signatures, ads, social bios and printed QR codes.

Why it matters
Every conversation the customer starts is free and consented. Links and QR codes are the cheapest lead source a business has, and a prefilled message with a source word ("Hi, I saw the Diwali offer") tells the CRM where the person came from and can trigger the right flow.
