Pacing (send rate)
Pacing, in WhatsApp sending, is the deliberate control of how many messages per second a tool hands to Meta's API. Instead of sending a broadcast as fast as the API allows, a paced sender starts slow, watches acceptance and error signals, and ramps up, staying under the number's throughput limit and under the rate at which Meta's own checks start holding messages.

Why it matters
Meta's throughput limit is 80 messages per second per number by default, but sending at that rate on a new template or a young number invites pacing holds, 130429 rate limits and quality drops. A ramped pace produces the same total in slightly more time with far fewer holds, and since April 2026 avoids the retry penalties that fast, error-heavy sends incur.
