WhatsApp error 131047: what it means and how to fix it

Error 131047 ("Re-engagement message") is returned when a business sends a non-template message to a customer whose 24-hour customer service window has closed. Meta rejects the message; the fix is to send an approved template instead, and the window reopens if the customer replies.

Why it matters

131047 is the window rule enforced. It appears when an agent replies a day late, when an automation sends free text on a schedule, or when an integration does not check the window. It is harmless in itself (nothing is charged) but it means a customer did not get a message you thought you sent.

In VGraple CRM

The inbox and flows check the window before every send and switch to templates automatically, so 131047 is rare; when it does occur through the API, the failure is shown on the message with a one-click option to send a template instead. The 131047 guide covers the API case.
