Call-to-action button
A call-to-action (CTA) button is a template button that performs an action outside the chat: opening a website URL, dialling a phone number, or copying an offer code to the clipboard. Unlike quick replies it does not send a message back, so it does not open a window, but URL taps can be tracked by Meta and reported.

Why it matters
CTA buttons are how a WhatsApp message drives traffic and calls: "View order", "Pay now", "Call us". The dynamic URL suffix lets one approved template link every recipient to their own page (a tracking link, an order, a personalised offer). Since 2024 Meta reports URL button clicks for templates, which gives a click rate without redirect tricks.
