United States marketing message pause
The United States marketing message pause is Meta's decision, in effect since April 2025, to stop delivering marketing template messages to WhatsApp users with United States phone numbers (+1) from any business, anywhere in the world. Utility, authentication and service messages to US numbers are unaffected; marketing sends fail or are rejected.

Why it matters
Any business with US customers, including Indian exporters, travel agents, coaching institutes and NRI-facing services, cannot run WhatsApp marketing to them. Tools that do not know this waste sends and confuse reports. The pause has no announced end date and Meta has extended it rather than lifted it.
