The referral programme pays both sides: a business that signs up through your link gets INR 500 of credit to start, and you receive INR 500 of credit when they upgrade to any paid plan. Credits reduce your VGraple CRM invoices automatically. This guide shows where the link is, how a referral qualifies, and how credit is applied.

Before you start
- Any Owner or Admin can see the Referrals page; the credit belongs to the organisation, not the person.
- The referred business must sign up through your link (or enter your code at signup) so the referral is attached to their organisation.
Steps
- Go to Settings, then Referrals.
- Copy Your referral link and share it with another business by WhatsApp, email or on your website.
- When they sign up through the link, their organisation appears under Referred businesses with the status Pending, and INR 500 of welcome credit is added to their account.
- When they activate a paid plan (any plan, monthly or annual), the status changes to Rewarded and INR 500 is added to your Credit balance.
- Your next invoice is reduced by the balance automatically.

Who to refer
The businesses most likely to convert are the ones already answering customers on a personal WhatsApp: shops, clinics, salons, coaching institutes, real estate agents, travel agents, D2C brands. They sign up, connect a number in coexistence mode so the owner keeps the app, and see the inbox fill with real conversations within an hour. Send them the link with one line about what changed for you; a demo of your own inbox convinces faster than any page.
Agencies and consultants
If you set up WhatsApp for clients, use your referral link at signup for every client workspace you create on their behalf. Each client's first paid plan earns a credit on your own organisation, which reduces your platform fee; the client receives their welcome credit as well. There is no separate agency programme, and the standard rules on self-referral apply: the client must be a genuinely separate business.
Seeing the history
The Referrals page lists every referred organisation with the signup date, the status (Pending until they pay, Rewarded afterwards) and the credit amount. The Billing page shows the same balance next to the plan, and each invoice that used credit shows the deduction. Credits do not expire while the organisation is active.
How credit is applied
Credit sits as a balance on your organisation. On a card subscription, the balance is pushed to your billing account so the next renewal or upgrade invoice is reduced by that amount with nothing to do. If the credit exceeds the invoice, the remainder carries forward. The Referrals page shows the running balance and every credit with its reason ("A business you referred upgraded to a paid plan" or "Welcome credit for joining through a referral").
Rules
- Rewards are granted once per referred organisation, on its first paid activation.
- Referring yourself, creating duplicate organisations, or using the link inside your own business does not qualify.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred between organisations.
- VGraple may decline or reverse credits for abuse, and may change the programme with notice.
Settings and options
| Item | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Referral link and code | Settings, Referrals | Eight-character code, fixed per organisation |
| Credit balance | Settings, Referrals and the Billing page | Applied to the next invoice |
| Referred businesses | Settings, Referrals | Pending or Rewarded, with dates |
Sharing the link well
The link works anywhere a link works: a WhatsApp message, an email signature, a line on an invoice, a slide at the end of a workshop, a button on your website. What converts is context: a sentence about what the inbox changed for you, a screenshot of your own broadcast report, or an offer to show your setup on a call. Businesses referred by someone who uses the product daily upgrade at several times the rate of anonymous signups, which is why the reward is on the upgrade rather than on the signup.
What the referred business sees
At signup through your link, the new organisation's Billing page shows the INR 500 welcome credit immediately with the note that it came from a referral. The credit reduces their first paid invoice, so a Starter month costs them Rs 999 the first time. Nothing about your business is shown to them beyond the code.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| A referral does not appear | They signed up without the link or code | Ask them to contact support with your code within a few days of signup |
| Status stays Pending | They are still on Free | The reward triggers on their first paid plan |
| Credit not on my invoice | The invoice was generated before the credit arrived | It applies to the following invoice |
| Referred business says they got no welcome credit | Signup did not carry the code | Support can attach it after checking |
Support hours are Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM IST.
Credits are visible to Admins as well as the Owner, so an agency account manager can track referrals without billing access; only the Owner sees how the credit was applied on the invoice.
