131051 means the message type is not supported. 131052 means WhatsApp could not download media a customer sent. 131055 means the request accepts only marketing templates, and you sent something else. Each has a different fix, set out below.
Symptom
Either an outgoing message fails immediately with 131051 or 131055, or an incoming attachment from a customer fails to arrive with 131052.
Why it happens
- 131051: the message type or its content is one WhatsApp cannot send to that recipient, for example a type the recipient's app version does not support.
- 131052: the file a customer sent could not be fetched by the platform, so there is nothing to show in the chat.
- 131055: the endpoint used accepts marketing templates only, and a non-template message or a utility or authentication template was sent through it.
Fix
- 131051: check the message type against what WhatsApp supports and resend a supported type, such as plain text or a standard template.
- 131052: ask the customer to send the file again, or in another way such as a photo instead of a document. The error detail in the incoming event explains why the download failed.
- 131055: send the message as a marketing template through the marketing route, or use the normal route for utility and authentication templates.
- Do not retry a failed 131051 or 131055 unchanged. The same content fails again.
In VGraple CRM
The failed message in the inbox shows the code and Meta's text, so an agent knows to ask the customer to send the file again.
