Error 131050 means the recipient chose to stop receiving marketing messages from your business on WhatsApp. Do not retry marketing sends to them. Utility messages, and replies inside the 24-hour window, can still be delivered. Treat it as a clear opt-out.
Symptom
A marketing template to one recipient fails with 131050, and the same person succeeds on utility templates or replies.
Why it happens
- WhatsApp lets users tap a control on a marketing message to stop marketing from that business. After that Meta refuses further marketing templates to that person from you.
- It is a user choice, not a technical fault, and it applies to your business only.
Fix
- Do not retry. A retry fails and repeated attempts can hurt your number's quality.
- Keep sending only what the person still allows: utility messages they triggered, and replies inside the 24-hour window.
- Record the opt-out on the contact so future audiences exclude them.
- Review the campaign that produced the opt-out. A high rate of stops means the audience or the frequency is wrong.
- If the person later messages you first, you can reply normally. They may also opt in again, and Meta sends a preference update.
In VGraple CRM
VGraple CRM suppresses marketing sends to a recipient after a 131050 and keeps the suppression across broadcasts, sequences and flows, so the contact is not tried again and your failed counts stay honest. Utility templates and replies are not blocked.
