The Facebook Messenger integration routes conversations from your Facebook Page into the VGraple CRM shared inbox and lets agents, flows and the AI reply from there, with Page comments handled alongside. It is native: VGraple CRM connects through Meta's OAuth flow and the Messenger Platform webhooks, so there is no polling, no browser extension and no third-party relay.

Setup
- Go to Settings, then Channels, and click Connect Messenger, Instagram, or Lead Ads, then Connect via Facebook.
- In the Facebook Login pop-up, select the Page and grant permissions.
- Click Connect on the Page. A Messenger channel card appears with the Page name.
- Turn on the Messenger DMs toggle. Turn on FB Comments if you want comments in the Comments view.
- Rename the channel if you run several Pages, attach a flow or the AI assistant, and set assignment rules for the channel.
- Message the Page from a personal account to confirm it lands in the inbox tagged Messenger.
Who uses it
Businesses whose customers still start conversations on their Facebook Page: local services, real estate, education, retailers with an active Page. Messenger has no per-message cost and no template rules inside the window, so it is a good entry channel; the usual pattern is to answer on Messenger and move the relationship to WhatsApp for follow-ups, consent and payments.
Comments alongside DMs
FB Comments is a separate toggle on the same Page connection. Comments arrive in the Comments view with the post they belong to, and automation rules can reply publicly, hide spam, or send the commenter a private reply that opens a Messenger conversation. Keyboard shortcuts (j and k to move, r to reply, h to hide) make working a busy post fast.
Three recipes
- New Messenger conversation outside business hours -> away message with buttons, assignment next morning. An away rule replies with hours and a "Call me back" button; the tap creates a lead and assigns the team when the shift starts.
- Comment on a promoted post -> private reply with the offer and a WhatsApp link. The comment automation moves the conversation to a channel where you can follow up with consent.
- Messenger enquiry mentions a product -> AI answers from the catalogue knowledge base and offers to send a payment link on WhatsApp.
Moving customers to WhatsApp
Messenger is where many conversations begin, but consent records, templates, payment links and broadcasts live on WhatsApp. The usual bridge is a message with your wa.me link or a "message us on WhatsApp" button; when the customer writes there, the two conversations sit under the same contact and the WhatsApp thread carries the follow-ups. Flows on Messenger can send the link automatically when a conversation reaches a booking or purchase step.
Limits and gotchas
- Meta's 24-hour standard reply window applies; the Human Agent tag (7 days) is granted by Meta after review and applied automatically.
- Message tags for reminders and updates outside the window are limited to Meta's approved cases.
- Profile lookups share a Meta app-level quota; names can show as placeholders briefly.
- Templates, WhatsApp Flows and catalog messages are WhatsApp features and do not send on Messenger; flows skip those nodes.
- No per-message charge from Meta on Messenger.
The Messenger guide walks through the settings; the comments guide covers Facebook comment automation.
Each connected Page keeps its own toggles and its own assignment rules, so a business with several Pages can route each Page's conversations to a different team from the same inbox.
