The Cashfree integration lets you send INR payment links inside WhatsApp conversations from your own Cashfree account, with the paid status written back to the chat and the amount attributed to the conversation and campaign. It is native: you paste your Cashfree Client ID and Client Secret into VGraple CRM, links are created through Cashfree's production Payment Links API in your account, and each link carries a notify URL so Cashfree confirms payment back to your workspace automatically.
What syncs
| Data | Direction | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Payment link creation (amount in INR, purpose, customer phone and name) | VGraple CRM to Cashfree | Immediate |
| Payment success or failure notification | Cashfree to VGraple CRM | Real time, via the notify URL on each link |
| Chat message and conversation status (Pending, Paid) | Inside VGraple CRM | On notification |
| Revenue attribution to campaign, flow, agent and contact | Inside VGraple CRM | On payment |
| Purchase event to Meta (when Conversions API is connected) | VGraple CRM to Meta | On payment |
Setup
- Go to Settings, then Integrations, then Payment Collection. Choose Cashfree from the Gateway dropdown.
- In your Cashfree dashboard, open the developer or API keys section and copy the production Client ID and Client Secret.
- Paste the Client ID into the Cashfree Client ID field and the secret into Cashfree Client Secret; the secret is masked after saving.
- Click Save. There is no webhook step.
- Open a WhatsApp conversation with an open window, click the payment icon in the composer, enter an amount and purpose, and send a test link. Complete the payment and watch the message change to Paid.
Who uses it
Indian businesses that already settle through Cashfree or want UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets on one link for domestic customers: restaurants, clinics, coaching institutes, salons, retailers, service providers. Because the link is created in your own Cashfree account, your settlement cycle, KYC and pricing with Cashfree apply unchanged.
How confirmation works without a webhook
Each payment link VGraple CRM creates includes a notify URL that points at your workspace. When the customer pays, Cashfree calls that URL with the payment result, VGraple CRM verifies it and updates the message, the conversation and the revenue record. Because the URL travels with the link, there is nothing to configure in the Cashfree dashboard and nothing to break if you change settings later. The Payment Collection settings page shows the last confirmation received, which is the first place to look if a paid link still shows Pending.
Three recipes
- Restaurant order confirmed in a flow -> Cashfree link sent -> kitchen sees Paid before cooking. The flow's payment action creates the link; the notification updates the order and the conversation.
- Coaching fee instalment due -> utility template with the link three days before, on the day, and once after. A sequence sends the reminders; payment ends it and records revenue.
- Salon advance for a Saturday slot -> link sent on booking, slot released if unpaid in 2 hours. Appointment automation sends the link and a rule moves the stage on timeout.
Cashfree and Stripe side by side
Choose Cashfree for INR-only businesses whose customers pay by UPI; choose Stripe when you invoice international customers or already run Stripe. Both record payments identically in VGraple CRM, both feed revenue attribution and the Conversions API, and switching the gateway later affects only new links. Neither adds a VGraple CRM fee: you pay your gateway's charges and nothing else.
Limits and gotchas
- Owners only: payment settings are secrets, hidden from admins and custom roles.
- INR only; international customers need Stripe.
- Cashfree's own KYC, settlement cycle and charges apply to your account.
- Links sent outside the 24-hour window must travel in a utility template URL button.
- Refunds are processed in the Cashfree dashboard.
The Cashfree setup guide explains the notify URL model and troubleshooting.
Payment links created on the phone from the Android app use the same gateway and settings, so field staff can collect an advance in chat without touching the web app.
