Conversation-based pricing (retired)
Conversation-based pricing was the WhatsApp Business Platform model from February 2022 to 30 June 2025: a business paid once for each 24-hour conversation window, categorised as marketing, utility, authentication or service based on the message that opened it, with any number of messages inside the window included. Meta retired it on 1 July 2025 in favour of per-message pricing.

Why it matters
Most pricing content online still describes conversations and "the first 1,000 conversations are free", which no longer exist. The new allowance that starts on 1 October 2026 sounds similar and is not: it counts messages, not chats, per business phone number, per month. If your chats average five replies, 1,000 free replies cover about 200 chats a number. Understanding the difference explains why cost estimates from 2024 tools and blogs are wrong and why long back-and-forth threads cost money again. The October 2026 change explained.
In VGraple CRM
Cost estimates and pricing pages use the current per-message model with Meta's country rates, including the card effective 1 October 2026. Each WhatsApp number's card in Settings shows how many of its 1,000 free replies are used this month, and the pricing page shows Meta's charges separately from VGraple CRM plans.
