Monthly active contacts (MAC)
Monthly active contacts (MAC) is a billing metric used by some messaging vendors that counts the number of unique contacts a business exchanged messages with in a calendar month, regardless of how many messages each received. Plans are priced in MAC bands, and exceeding the band triggers an overage or an upgrade.

Why it matters
MAC pricing rewards deep conversations with few people and penalises broad, light-touch messaging such as reminders to a large base; conversation or contact-based quotas behave differently. When comparing vendors, model your own pattern: a clinic messaging 3,000 patients once a month looks very different from a sales team talking to 300 leads daily.
In VGraple CRM
Plans use stored contact limits and monthly conversation allowances rather than MAC: Free 500 contacts and 100 conversations, Starter 5,000 and 2,000, Growth 25,000 and 10,000, Scale unlimited. The pricing page explains how limits are counted.
