When to send it
Utility templates carry information the customer expects because of something they did: a booking, an order, a payment, a request. Meta prices them at the utility rate (Rs 0.115 per message in India from April 2026) and does not count them against marketing frequency caps, but the body must stay transactional. Add a promotional line and Meta reclassifies the template as marketing, which costs seven times more per message and is subject to per-user caps.
Use case: Lead Inquiry Response. Send it from an automation (appointment stage change, order status, payment event) so it goes out the moment the trigger happens, or from the inbox when a customer asks.
Approval tips
- Keep every sentence about the specific transaction. A signature line or a "reply to reschedule" instruction is fine; "check out our new packages" is not.
- Use variables for anything that changes per customer (name, service, time, amount). Meta rejects templates whose sample values look like placeholders, so give realistic samples when you submit.
- Utility messages can be sent at any time, inside or outside the 24-hour window, to any contact who has opted in.
- Meta needs a sample value for every variable at submission time. The gallery supplies realistic samples for this template, so approval is usually quick.
- Template names must be lowercase with underscores; the gallery uses
realestate_inquiry_responseas the base name and adds a suffix if you already have one.
Cost per message
Sent to Indian numbers, this template costs the utility rate on Meta's April 2026 rate card: Rs 0.115 per delivered message, billed by Meta directly. VGraple CRM adds no markup. Rates for other countries are on the WhatsApp API pricing pages.
