VGraple CRM operates in Meta's ecosystem as a Tech Provider, which means your WhatsApp Business Account, phone number and Business Manager are created and owned under your own Meta business, not under VGraple CRM's, and Meta bills your conversation charges directly to your own account at its published rates with no markup added on top. This is a structurally different relationship from an older-style Business Solution Provider (BSP) arrangement, and it matters for who controls your account and where your money actually goes.

- No action is required to understand or benefit from this; it describes how VGraple CRM's connection to Meta already works for every customer, on every plan.
- If you are evaluating VGraple CRM against another WhatsApp platform, it is worth asking the same two questions of any provider: who owns the WhatsApp Business Account (you, or the provider), and who bills the per-message conversation charges (Meta directly, or the provider as a pass-through).
Steps

Understanding what a Tech Provider relationship means for your account
Your Business Manager and WhatsApp Business Account are created under your own Meta business. During Embedded Signup, Meta creates (or uses your existing) Business Manager, tied to your Facebook account, not to VGraple CRM's.
VGraple CRM is granted specific, revocable permissions, not ownership. Meta's Embedded Signup consent screen scopes exactly what VGraple CRM can do (send and receive messages, manage templates, read the profile fields shown on the channel card); nothing beyond what you explicitly authorize.
Check who bills you for conversation charges. Meta bills per-message conversation charges directly to the payment method on your own Meta Business Manager, at Meta's published rates for your country. VGraple CRM's own invoice covers only your monthly plan; see how Meta bills message charges and how to see them.
Confirm you retain control by checking Meta Business Manager directly. From business.facebook.com, your WhatsApp Business Account, its phone numbers, and its connected apps are all visible and manageable from your own Business Manager, independent of VGraple CRM's interface.
If you ever need to leave
Disconnect from VGraple CRM without losing the account. Because the account is yours, disconnecting a channel in VGraple CRM (Settings, then Channels, then WhatsApp, then Disconnect) does not delete or transfer the underlying WhatsApp Business Account; it only removes VGraple CRM's authorization to use it.
Connect the same number elsewhere if you choose to. A disconnected number can be connected to a different platform, or reverted to the WhatsApp Business app, using its own onboarding flow, since Meta's records still show your business as the account owner throughout.
Why does this distinction actually matter to your business?
It matters for two practical reasons beyond terminology. First, control: because your WhatsApp Business Account is created and owned under your own Meta business, you are never dependent on VGraple CRM's continued cooperation to keep using WhatsApp at all, since the account itself is not VGraple CRM's to hold. Second, cost transparency: Meta's per-message conversation charges go directly to your own Meta payment method at Meta's own published rates, visible in your own Business Manager, rather than arriving folded into an opaque per-message line item a provider controls and can mark up without you ever seeing Meta's actual rate.
| Tech Provider (how VGraple CRM operates) | Provider intermediating the account | |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp Business Account ownership | Your own Meta business | Sometimes held or co-managed by the provider |
| Meta conversation charges | Billed directly to you by Meta, at Meta's published rate | Sometimes billed by the provider, with markup not always disclosed |
| Moving to a different platform | Disconnect and reconnect elsewhere; account stays yours | Can require the provider's cooperation or a formal account transfer |
| Visibility into what Meta actually charges | Full visibility in your own Meta Business Manager | Sometimes obscured behind a bundled per-message price |
Example
A D2C brand comparing two WhatsApp platforms asks both the same question: "If I stop paying you, do I keep my WhatsApp number and its message history?" With VGraple CRM, the answer is straightforward, since the WhatsApp Business Account was never VGraple CRM's to begin with; it was always the brand's own Meta account, just connected to VGraple CRM's software.
What you will see
Nothing changes visually inside VGraple CRM as a result of this relationship; it is a structural fact about how the connection works, not a toggle or a setting. Where it does become visible is in Meta Business Manager itself: your WhatsApp Business Account, its billing details, and its list of connected apps (VGraple CRM among them, listed by name) are all shown there, editable and removable independently of VGraple CRM.
Settings and options
| Setting or field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Business Manager ownership | Always your own Meta business; never VGraple CRM's | Set at Embedded Signup, unaffected by VGraple CRM |
| Meta billing | Conversation charges billed directly to your Meta payment method | No markup from VGraple CRM |
| App access (in Meta Business Manager) | Lists VGraple CRM's granted permissions; revocable at any time from your side | Granted during Embedded Signup consent |
| VGraple CRM's own billing | Covers your monthly plan only, separate from Meta's charges | Shown in Settings, then Billing |
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Unexpected charge on your Meta-linked payment method | Meta's own conversation charges for template messages sent outside a free service window | Expected; see how Meta bills message charges for how to read them |
| Want to revoke VGraple CRM's access without disconnecting inside the product | This can be done from Meta's side directly | In Meta Business Manager, remove VGraple CRM from the WhatsApp Business Account's connected apps list |
| Unsure whether your account can move to a different platform later | Some providers with BSP-style intermediation make this harder; VGraple CRM does not, since the account is yours | Confirm ownership directly in Meta Business Manager; the account and its history stay with your business regardless of which platform connects to it |
| Confused why VGraple CRM does not show a per-message invoice | Message-level billing is Meta's, not VGraple CRM's, so it is not itemized on your VGraple CRM invoice | Check Meta Business Manager's billing section for the per-message breakdown |
