Version 3.0 of the Android app brings the notification centre, contact custom fields, WhatsApp Ads and the plan and AI billing views to the phone, and moves the app onto a newer, lighter runtime underneath.
Notifications
A bell on Home opens the notification centre, which lists every open problem in your workspace with the steps to fix it, whether that is a WhatsApp number Meta has limited or an integration that has stopped delivering. Anything you have decided to live with can be muted for a week. If the problem is a WhatsApp number that is not sending, you can recheck its send health from the same screen rather than waiting for the next sweep.
Message notifications now stack per contact, so a customer who sends five messages in a row produces one expandable notification instead of five banners. This was built for Android 16, where the old one-banner-per-message behaviour was starting to get in the way.
Contacts, inbox and WhatsApp numbers
Custom fields on a contact can now be read and edited from the phone, the same fields your team set up on the web.
The inbox can be filtered by WhatsApp number, so a team that runs a sales line and a support line on separate numbers can look at one at a time.
Every WhatsApp number shows its Meta send health and whether a Meta Business Agent is handling the inbound side, and Home warns you when either needs attention.
Voice notes and deleted messages
You can record a voice note in a conversation and send it straight from the app, and it arrives on the customer's phone as a proper WhatsApp voice note with a waveform. Photos, files and voice notes now upload and send in one step, so putting the app in the background mid-send no longer loses the message.
When someone deletes a message for everyone, the bubble now reads "This message was deleted" in its place, the way WhatsApp shows it, and your own deleted messages read "You deleted this message".
Campaigns
Click-to-WhatsApp ad campaigns now appear under Campaigns with spend, results, cost per result and the conversations they started, and you can pause and resume a campaign from the phone.
AI replies, plan and billing
Replies written by the AI are tagged in the thread, and each one opens a "Why did AI say this?" view that explains the answer. Your AI replies balance sits under Plan and billing, next to new usage meters for contacts and WhatsApp numbers and the terms of any offer applied to your plan.
Onboarding
New workspaces get a "Try it" step that opens WhatsApp on the same phone with a message to the sandbox number ready to send, so you see a message arrive in the inbox before you connect anything.
Under the hood
The app now runs on Expo SDK 57 and React Native 0.86, uses less memory, and supports Android's predictive back gesture, so swiping back previews where you will land before you let go.
What to do
Update to version 3.0.1 from Google Play. It is a full store release, so the app will not pick it up as an in-place update. Nothing changes on the web.
